On every episode of Top Gear, a
different Celebrity appears on the show to be interviewed by the
Clarkson and then before that, they are shown round the track, by the
stigness and then they set they own timed lap which they become a star
in a reasonably priced car.
Their times are then placed on the
leader board, to see where they faired among all the other celebrities.
The format for setting a lap time is that each celebrity is allowed
five practice laps, then a final timed lap.
Of course, they have been times when
the car has been damaged and other mishaps as well. Sir Michael Gambon
went around the final corner of the track on two wheels, which Jeremy
then renamed the corner in Gambon's honour. When Lionel Richie and Trevor Eve
were doing their practice laps, both lost a wheel of the car. David
Soul some how destroyed the clutches of both the main car and the
back-up car. Of course when footage is available, Clarkson always show
footage of many celebrities spinning off the track.
From seasons 1-10, one person (with a
few exceptions) did a lap in the reasonably priced car. In season 11
however, they have introduced two people every week, usually related
to the same program.
From Season 8 - 10 the car has been
the Chevrolet Lacetti and seasons 1-7 they used a Suzuki liana.

the track, along with what episode they appeared in.
