 |
The 648 Network (previously known as Crash Bandicoot 648) is a fan site providing information
about my favourite TV shows and video games, which is
no

featured. This site is run, updated and maintained by yours truly,
crashb648, who's real name and identity remains anymoumous.
Sierra's Crash Bandicoot and
Spyro the Dragon were
and still are my favourite game series'.
BBC's Top Gear I
have started watching for about a year-or-so, which my car knowledge is
growing rapidly.
NBC'S Knight Rider is my favourite TV series of all time.
This site is no way affiliated with or related to
all of the TV shows or video games featured as this site as it is just to bring
information to the public. This site is run, updated and maintained by yours
truly, crashb648.
This
site is updated semi-regularly, (usually whenever I get the time) with new pages, information or even new topics! What the
update is all about is placed onto the Home page, then over time is placed onto
the update archive. If you want to submit something to the site, then contact me.
Since I am a good-hearted, I always welcome people
emailing me with any thoughts, suggestions, corrections (as my site is
expanding, errors may occur) or anything you would like to submit to the
site. My all-purpose email address is at
crashb648@gmx.co.uk or
alternately you can use the
contact form. I do have a life, so my reply to your email
may not be instantaneous.
This site remember, is still under
construction as my life schedule will not let me work on the site all day
and night, 24/7. But I am constantly making improvements to the site, so
keep checking back. But take note - if I can't update the site for a while
I will post an announcement on the main page.
So I hope you enjoyed reading that, as much
as I enjoyed writing it. Keep an eye out for new site improvements and new
surprises as well...

The History of the Site |

Here's a complete record of my site, starting from version 1 right up to
the present day. I have called this site (the one you are visiting) version
3 for easy reference.
|
|
Crash Bandicoot 648
Version 1.0 |

 |
Way back in June 2007, I became interested in making web
sites. I loved the way you can create whatever you wanted - the way you wanted.
So, I started browsing the internet for free web hosts. I quickly came across
Yahoo Geocites which offered a free
web site builder, which is what I wanted.
Since I was had just discovered one of the best
fan sites I had come across -
crash mania,
I decided that my web site was going to be based on Crash Bandicoot. After a
couple of days of trail and error, I created
my first crash site
and decided to call it Crash Bandicoot 648. The site is still online now.
This is the first
page I created using yahoo geocites. It had a left hand
navigation bar, with the logo at the top and a hit counter below it.
This is the only version of the site, which used the full width of the
screen as well, (which meant that the yahoo banner had to be hidden) the
future versions of my site just used the space of the screen which is
visible with the yahoo banner open.
|
|
Crash Bandicoot 648
Version 1.4 |
 |
This time I redid the navigation bar, which (for the only time) was
horizontal not vertical (on the side) like all my other sites. I also
created buttons each for the main pages and also wrote a new introduction
message. I also created a games page to links for all the
games to other sites |
|
Crash Bandicoot 648
Version 1.7 |
 |
After working on
version 2.5 of my site, I decided to go back to the original site and
improve it. There were a few things I did to generally improve it. Firstly, I improved
the appearance of the site by adding new orange backgrounds as I thought
the plain white backgrounds were a bit basic. I also added the new site email addresses to
make sure people get redirected. I also deleted the youtube videos and downloads page because
the links were not working.
|
 |
|
Crash Bandicoot 648
Version 1.9 |
 |
In June 2008, I decided to once again,
return to my original site and improve it. I recycled an old banner, I
created for the site (which never got used) and I used this to create a
new welcome page for the site.
I also installed a very light background
to all the pages, (which is from the
old
version of cm) which keeps the look and feel of the old site,
while improving it. I also installed a email form on the home page as
well.

 |
|
Crash Bandicoot 648
Version 2.0 |
 |
After the
Geocities site, my HTML skills were much improved, so I decided to create a bigger and better site
using Microsoft Frontpage. This site was
more of a experiment to see how the geocities site would look like in
Frontpage, so this
had lots of old content.
Since
CM, had just moved servers
to Freeweb7, it seemed like a good place to host my site. There were only about 4 pages finished before I
started on a new version of the site. This site didn't last long...
|
 |
|
Crash Bandicoot 648
Version 2.5 |
 |
This version of the site was a huge improvement, as I completely changed everything about the site which includes
a new layout, navigation bar with new pages and content. (including a new logo
and banners)
The site took a couple of weeks to complete and
only survived for about 3 months. Until January until I ran into some... delays.
After all the hard work, I finally created a website! I did pull it off!
|
 |
|
Crash Bandicoot 648
Version 2.8 |
 |
This isn't really that different from version 2.5, but it had more pages, better
backgrounds, more content and a new banner. You will be wondering that: "I
never saw this version" well there is a reason for it - it never went live,
an un-released version of my site.
I decided that there was nothing more I
could do with the site, so I started working on a brand new website, which
was new but had crash in as well... |
 |
|
Crash Bandicoot 648
Version 3.0 (648
Network) |
 |
After a break, I started working on
this brand new site throughout march.
I decided that I would split the site into different
shows and games that I like, so I wouldn't lose a sense of purpose.
After a lot of narrowing down, Crash Spyro, knight rider and top gear,
were going to be the site sections.
I then renamed the site to 648 network, as it not just
about crash bandicoot anymore.

is that you need to have visitors. So I have provided these little buttons
and banners which you can link to my site. You can either copy the html
codes provided (if you do not how then click here) or you can save the
images to your computer and upload to your web host.
